Densen Audio Technologies is the culmination of a life long passion for music and hifi. Allready when our Head Honcho Thomas Sillesen was 13 years old he made his first amplifier. Turning 18 Thomas started working parttime at an audioshow, while attending high school.

During his youth, he continued his passion, and while at business school Thomas started importing and distributing audio in Denmark. This was not succesfull, as it was cool business and not made with the heart.

Thomas took the consequence, and stopped importing hifi, and founded Densen in order to make hifi equipment completely without compromise ! This was done while still in business school, where Thomas finished with a M.Sc. (B.A. & Ec.) in Quality Control and Quality Management (as the first dane ever). That the Densen products are really made with no compromise in order to meet Thomas´ high standards are obvious, as Densen is the only company that offer a lifelong warranty for the first owner. A warranty that obviously puts high demands on the company to make perfect and lasting products.

Another example that proves that Densen is really made for Thomas, instead of the classic business approach where a company targets the market, is the curiosity that the volumecontrol are placed on the left side of the cabinets, which is done because Thomas is lefthanded !

So in that respect we do not make products the way the marked would like us to make them. We make them the way Thomas would like them to be. This way the products have soul and personality. Thomas also has a clear vision of how the products should sound.

Densen B-110

 

 

 

 
Densen B-110 - integrated amplifier
The B-110 is the successor to the B-100, which became the most sold high-end amplifier ever from a Scandinavian audio manufacturer. However, the B-110 takes a giant step forward in terms of musicality. The reviews have confirmed the quality of the "old" B-100 by awarding the B-100 a string of very favorable reviews: "You just can't beat it", "rhythmic magic" and "build quality that should embarrass everyone fighting in this price category" - words that tell you it is time to open your ears and listen! The new B-110 will exceed this in every respect! This completely new design is simply sonically superior, because of the high-end details it inherits from its close relation to the B-130 and B-150. The all new B-110 is a true High-End killer!

The volume is controlled by an extremely precise attenuator made of Vishay metal film resistors, which is switched by relays controlled by the microprocessor. Compared to a normal volume potentiometer of the kind used in the majority of all preamps, the resistor network has virtually no self induced noise and an extremely low distortion. This results in an unsurpassed precision and refinement, and the attenuator contains no less than 200 steps! This makes it possible to adjust the volume very precisely (0.5 dB) even when the sound is so low that an ordinary volume control would create an uneven balance between left and right.

The B-110 output stage utilizes Densen’s unique ”DMCD” (Densen Mass Current Distribution) technology. The B-110 is, as with all other Densen amplifiers, a true non-feedback construction (no global or local feedback), The DMCD technology also secures an extremely firm grip on the speakers combined with a fast, precise and truly transparent sound. As the B-110 is a wide bandwidth design it goes straight to 400.000Hz, resulting in improved slew-rate.

The B-110 is built using surface mounting techniques, and the components are mounted with a precision of 0.02mm (!) using silver solder. All solderings are made in an artificial atmosphere, consisting of nitrogen, to avoid oxidation of the solderings. The power supply is massive, consisting of a 360VA transformer and having a storage capacity of 70.000uF. Unusually for an amplifier, not all of the capacitors are mounted in a capacitor bank, as some of them are located directly adjoining the output stage for faster power delivery. All resistors are laser trimmed metal film from Vishay with a precision of 0.1%. The B-110 delivers 60W in 8 ohm and 120W in 4 ohm.

The transformer is custom-made for the B-110, and is winded using a new technique. This technique reduces vibration from the transformer and therefore reduces mechanical noise from the cabinet. At the same time, this prevents mechanical vibrations from reaching the delicate audio signals on the PCB. It also works as an isolation transformer, thereby eliminating the need to use separate power conditioners.

The special winding techniques used also ensure that the transformer modulates less than is normal (for other amplifiers) during the delivery of large amounts of current. Transformers normally lower the voltage during the delivery of large amounts of current which results in compression of the signal’s dynamics. As a result of the new winding method the transformer in the B-110 is extremely stiff, which means that the voltage does not drop under large current deliveries. The printed circuit board is made of Teflon, and is double sided to allow for the signal on one side and the ground plane on the other, thereby optimising interference free signal transfer.

The B-110 contains sockets for the SB Board for surround, DP-03 and DP-06 MM and MC stages. There is also the possibility of upgrading the B-110 with the DNRG external power supply to further enhance the sound quality, so as to experience truly breathtaking musical experiences. The B-110 is also prepared for the SAXO electronic crossover, so that the B-110 can be used in active systems. This is done by mounting the crossover internally in the B-110 in a socket. The SAXO crossover will fit all passive speakers on the market.

The DenLink system implemented in all Densen products allows 2-way communication in multiroom installations. On the B-110, the link system will allow the user to power up a link amplifier in the kitchen, or another room, and then control the main system in for example the living room, sending the signals to and from the kitchen, for playback in another room. It will be possible to have full display information in another room, with status on all products. The DenLink / Multiroom system is also prepared for controlling the lights, so you will be able to dim them.

The SB boards (Surround Boards) are not a technological breakthrough, but they are a revolution as far as new features go. The SB boards are add-on boards for the B-110. The B-110 is a dedicated 2 channel product initially, but by mounting the SB boards you get analog 5.1/ 7.1 line input and 5.1 / 7.1 line preout. This means you can easily connect a surround processor, DVD-player or SACD-player. With the SB boards implemented, you can connect a B-340 (4 channel amplifier) and then have 6 channels (5+1) of high grade amplification. This is a very easy and sonically superior way to enter the world of home cinema or Super Audio surround. The SB boards exist in two versions: the SB-02 board is the standard version with a competitive price, allowing for easy Surround; SB-01 is the reference version, with extremely high quality preamp stages. The SB-01 will give the same sound quality as the B-110 in all channels.
All 5.1 and/or 7.1 channels can be controlled from the Gizmo system remote, so that you can adjust for perfect levels and balance between the channels from your favourite listening and viewing position. When you have the SB board installed in the B-110 you get unsurpassed musicality for a 7.1 system. We do not hesitate to call it the first real musical surround system ever.

Densen B-130 - integrated amplifier
Hot in the heels of the award winning Densen B-110 and B-150 integrated amplifiers, Densen now introduces the B-130. Priced in between the B-110 and B-150, the B-130 in reality is a downscaled B-150 using many of the same advanced solutions, that has made the B-150 amplifier of the year, and editors choice in many countries.

The B-130 contains Densens strong signature of engaging and neutral sound, with both details and dynamics. The topology solutions are highly advanced, and not normal present in amplifiers in this pricerange. Like all other Densen amplifiers the B-130 is a non-feedback design, using extremely fast and reliable transistors, and other high quality parts to make an amplifier which no matter the loading, will perform at its best.

The B-130 contains several unique features, like processorloop, to allow easy connection to external surroundprocessors and the possibility of adding Densens SB-1 or SB-2 analogue surroundboards for easy connection to DVD players with analogue 5+1 or 7+1 output.

Also there is internal sockets for Densens DP-03 MM stage, and the forthcoming DP-06 MC stage. Naturally Densens B-130 contains several connections, including 2 preamp outputs, so it is possible to upgrade to either bi- or tri-amping. Internally in the B-130 is a socket, which allows to further update with the Densen SAXO electronic crossover to an active system.

The B-130 contains separate powersupplies for outputtransistors, drivers, preamp and microprocessor, a total of 7 rectifiers and 90.000uF capacity coupled with a massive toroid transformer, which is encapsulated to minimize influence from vibrations. By use of surface mounted components, it has been possible to keep the total size of the PCB small, to minimize EFI distortion on the circuit. As such each amplifier channel is not larger than a credit card, which has allowed a much faster than normal circuit, due to the minimum EFI influence.

Not only the powersupply and pcb layout is done without any compromise, also the used components are of an extremely high quality, as such there is used Vishay metalfilm resistors, custommade capacitors, high quality Vima Film capacitors, Sanken transistors, sealed relays and goldplated inputs. However the most important is the sound, and the Densen team has done as much as humanly possible to make the sound performance of the B-130 second to none.

The B-130 delievers 80watt in 8 ohm, and 160watts in 4 ohm. Has connections for Densens DenLink multiroom system, and as all other Densen products, comes with a lifelong warrenty for the first owner.

Densen B-150 - integrated amplifier
The new reference integrated amplifier from Densen is perhaps the most advanced integrated amp on the market. It is filled with advanced solutions, which all share the goal of giving you even more musicality and flexibility. The volume is controlled by an extremely precise attenuator made of Vishay metal film resistors, which is switched by relays controlled by the microprocessor. Compared to a normal volume potentiometer of the kind used in the majority of all preamps, the resistor network has virtually no self induced noise and an extremely low distortion. This results in an unsurpassed precision and refinement, and the attenuator contains no less than 200 steps! This makes it possible to adjust the volume very precisely (0.5 dB) even when the sound is so low that an ordinary volume control would create an uneven balance between left and right.

The B-150 output stage utilizes Densen’s unique ”DMCD” (Densen Mass Current Distribution) technology. The B-150 is, as with all other Densen amplifiers, The DMCD technology also secures an extremely firm grip on the speakers combined with a fast, precise and truly transparent sound. Densen B-175 - integrated amplifier
Densen now launches the B-175 Integrated Amplifier. The B-175 is the most powerful integrated amplifier ever from Densen, but despite that contains a care for details and nuances that is stunning. From the first look on the B-175 it is obvious that the B-175 is something special in the Densen family. It has the fascia of the B-250 preamp, and combines this with the brute and forceful cabinet of the B-350 mono block with its recessed heat sinks. This is no coincidence, as the B-175 merges the technology of Densens 2 current top of the line products; the B-250 preamp and B-350 mono blocks in one cabinet. Naturally some corners have been cut, to shoehorn such advanced products into the cabinet and budget of the B-175. However as always with Densen, the choices have been taken purely on sonic ground. The performance of the B-175 is therefore outstanding, and belies its modest price.

The B-175 delivers 2x125w in 8 ohm, and 2x250w in 4 ohm, and does this with an ease and control, that must be heard to be believed. The large recessed heat sinks, allows for the amplifier to run with a high bias, thereby securing that most power in normal listening conditions are delivered in Class A. The powersupply is made with a toroid transformer, encapsulated for isolation of vibrations to the main PCB, and with separate outputs to all critical stages of the power and preamp sections of the B-175. As always with Densen, it contains custommade capacitors made especially for the circuit in which they are used. No less than 15 custommade capacitors is used in the powersupply of the B-175. Further to that, for the first time ever in a Densen amplifier, there is used Densens own filmcapacitors. These film capacitors are the result of a long research of the behaviour of capacitors in critical paths of amplifiers. As such they are tailormade to the way Densen designs amplifiers, to give a performance not even found in the most well respected audiophile capacitors offered by other capacitor manufacturers.

The B-175 contains no less than 10 separate voltage regulators, many implemented as SMD voltage regulators, placed close to where the power is needed, thereby securing a smoth power delivery, to each critical stage of the amplifier. The actually poweramp design of the B-175 relies on the B-350 monoblock design, but with a few adjustments, to optimise it for its working conditions in the B-175. The poweroutput is transferred internally from the poweramp to the speakerterminals using a custommade cable, which is silvercoated copper with an isolation of Teflon. This cable was first used in Densens DM-10 amplifier, and now sees its rebirth in the B-175, securing a unsurpassed signal transfer.

The preamp is based on the Densen reference preamp; the B-250. As such it is a pure class A preamp, with an advanced microprocessor controlled attenuator. In these times, digital volume controls are often used in even high end amps. However digital volume controls, typically contains over 500 components in a compact microchip, with all the complications this means to the tiny vulnerable audiosignals. On top of that, digital volumecontrols typically has poor performance at low attenuation levels, which is where they are often used in normal listening conditions, where they will have high distortion and time related distortions, resulting in listening fatigue and lack of transparency and details. Densen has therefore never used digital volumecontrols on any their products, instead opting for an advanced ultra precise attenuator. This attenuator is implemented with the use of Vishay 0,1% lasertrimmed metal film resistors, giving a transparency and accuracy that is outstanding. Further the attenuator is calibrated by the user, by an interface with the amplifiers microprocessor. This means that the microprocessor that also takes care of the B-175s display, remote, inputselector and DenLink multiroom system, also takes care of the calibration of the attenuator to the listening level desired by the listener. The calibration is done in ½ db steps, allowing a high resolution, securing that the listener can always hit the precise listening level he desire.

Further the microprosessor controls the B-175s option of installing a analogue surroundboard, which is a board that expands the B-175s preamp to a true 7+1 analogue preamp, securing a precise and straight signal path for users who wants to upgrade the B-175 with a DVD with 5+1 or BluRay with 7+1 analogue output, and with further poweramplifiers to control all speakers in either a 5+1 or 7+1 system.

Audiophiles wanting to use the B-175 with a gramophone can convert on of the B-175s line inputs to either a MM or MC RIAA input by the purchase of a dedicated phonostage to insert in the B-175. Naturally the B-175 has the option of adding Densens advanced DNRG external powersupply. Finally the B-175 contains a socket for Densens advanced SAXO electronic crossover, resulting in the possibility of upgrading the Densen B-175 with several Densen poweramps and SAXOs to allow for true active performance in a high end system. Soundwise the B-175 contains the best of Densen; the fast engaging sound, the smooth detailed presentation, with a flow and transparency that must be heard. The precise soundstage, with lifelike depth, width and hight. The stunning detail level, that is a presented in a way, as not to take the attention of the sheer musicality of the B-175.

Densen B-200

 

 

 

 
Densen B-200 - pre-amplifier
The Densen BEAT-200 is the result of over 3 years intensive research and development, providing the focal point for all future Densen products. As you would expect, it bears the Densen trademark of engaging musicality, but the BEAT-200 is also technically sophisticated and is fully engineered for the Gizmo system remote. The B-200 marks the begining of a new phase for Densen, as it contains several unique, exciting solutions.

Soundwise the B-200 is – as with all other Densen products – designed with the absolute highest sound-quality as its goal. From the second the signal enters the B-200 there is no compromise. The input selection is done with a special version of CP Claire’s best relay. The CP Claire PRME 25005 is a mono relay, providing the B-200 with relays for both left and right signal - and a total of no less than 18 CP Claire relays, though the layout of the signal path means that the signal will travel through an absolute minimum of relays. From the input relays the signal is sent to the first stage of the preamp. Normally the signal would be sent directly to the potentiometer, but by starting with the first amplifier stage, the amplifier stage can be designed not only to take care of its normal function, but also to interact perfectly with the volume potentiometer that follows it. This ensures that signal sources with inferior output-stages will stil work perfectly with the B-200, because it is easier for them to work with the input stage rather then with a potentiometer that changes electrical ccharacteristics with the volume setting. From the volume potentiometer the signal is sent to the final stages of the B-200. The last stages are designed to be able to drive long cable runs, enabling it to work perfectly with several power amplifiers at once, even if they are placed alongway away from the B-200. This is done by making the output-stage a 6W Class-A power amplifier with no feedback… Naturally the amplifier stages are totally discrete designs, using ultrafast transistors and massive power supplies.

The whole of the circuitry is designed with the best components, and as such all inputs are goldplated, all resistors are 1% laser-trimmed metalfilm or better, all capacitors are selected for their sonic quality, and a Alps RK27 motor-driven potentiometer is used in a 4 times version. The power supply is built with the same encapsulated transformers as in Densen's top of the line preamp, the DM-20. We use no less than 5 custom-made capacitors, with a total capacity of 50.000 uF. There are seperate transformers for audio and for the CPU/Link system. The design is optimised to perfection, with only a minimum of leaded components, the rest being high quality SMD components, mounted with a precision of 0.05 mm! There is used a special teflon double-sided PCB, which is highly unusual, but has dramatic effects on the signal quality.

As always, the B-200 is prepared for bi-amping, but this time it is also prepared for quad-amping, allowing it to drive up to 4 stereo power amplifiers, or 8 monoblocks! If the connected power amplifier is Densen’s BEAT 300, it will be possible to make the system active by using electronic crossovers mounted internally in the BEAT B-300. This provides a clear upgrade path, from one B-200/B-300 to one B-200 and up to four B-300's using electronic crossovers, in an state-of-the-art active system.

It is naturally possibile to mount a DP-01 phono-stage internally in the B-200. As allways with a Densen product, the circuit itself is built using no feedback, which results in an open, transparent and dynamic sound with the Densen trademark musical involvement in the foreground. The B-200 is not only optimised soundwise; the remote and link system are also state-of-the-art, the result of 2 software programmers work since February 1996.

The B-200 link system allows two-way communication in multiroom installations. It is made to be an intelligent system, where every product helps the others, so that IR signals recieved by the B-200 or another product are transferred to the product for which they are intented, securing a perfect reception of IR information. Each product will be avare of which other Densen products are in the system, allowing for problem free use of the remote etc.

On the B-200, the link system will allow the user to power-up a link amplifier in the kitchen, or in another room and then control the main system in the living room, sending the signals to and from the kitchen, for playback in the kitchen only (or in the bedroom, or somewhere else). It will be possible to have full display information on the status of all units in another room. It will also be possible to take the remote to another room and control the link from there, or to use the remote in the main system like a normal remote. The whole link system interacts with a type D-Subconnector, and as such uses a computer standard, allowing for easy updating.

The frontpanel functions are also improved, without sacrificing the Densen trademark of no-nonsense. One of the new features is stand-by, allowing not only the B-200 to be put in stand-by, but also all other connected Densen products. Another feature is the processor loop, allowing for the use of the forthcoming surround processor.

To secure high quality sound in this multiroom system, the B-200 has also a seperate preamp stage for the link system, securing perfect quality, without interfering with the B-200’s main preamp. The link preamp is designed with a 833 IC which is run in balanced mode to secure no hum, even in link installations with long cableruns. Even though the 833 is of high quality, used in many of our competitors preamps, we feel it works best as a balanced amplifier in the link system, and that our discrete single-ended circuit is much better for real high-end use.

All in all, this system is extremely versatile and will form the backbone of Densen products for many years to come. It is even prepared for extensions, meaning that the CPU, which is the heart of the system, can be updated. To avoid making the CPU in the B-200 too costly, we have been able to optimize the Link/remote system considerably. Between the initial prototype and the final product, we have We have actually been able to remove 250 components, while improving the performance of the CPU. All these features are built into the BEAT-200 in a discrete way that never detracts from the true goal: musicality.

It will still be possible to have full display information in another other room. The DenLink / Multiroom system is also ready for a light controller that will be able to dim the lights in the room.

Surround Sound
The SA boards (Surround Audio Boards) are not a technological breakthrough, but they do contain revolutionary new features. The SA boards are add-on boards for the B-250. The B-250 is initially a dedicated 2 channel product, but by mounting the SA boards you get analog 5.1/ 7.1 line input and 5.1 / 7.1 line preout. This means you can easily connect a surround processor, DVD-player or SACD-player. If you have a system consisting of a preamp and a 2 channel power amp, with the SA boards implemented you can connect a B-340 (4 channel amplifier) and then have 6 channels (5+1) of high grade amplification. This is a very easy and sonically superior way to enter the world of home cinema or Super Audio system.

The SA boards exist in two versions; The SA-02 board is the competitively priced standard version, allowing for easy Surround. The SA-01 is the reference version, with extremely high quality preamp stages. The SA-01 will give the same sound quality as the B-250 in all channels. All 5.1 and/or 7.1 channels can be controlled from the Gizmo system remote, so that you can adjust for perfect levels and balance between the channels from your favorite listening and viewing position. Densen B-275 - pre-amplifier
Densen now introduces the new top of the line preamplifier; the B-275. The B-275 may mark a landmark leap for Densen, but actually is a well proven design, having being used internally at Densen as reference for several years. Now when it has become commercially available, it has been refined to meet the needs of discerning audiophiles around the world.

Densen has always had a strong attention to the powersupplies of their products. Over the years this has resulted in Densen using exclusively their own powersupply capacitors which are designed specifically for the circuits they are being used in, instead of relying on standard capacitors. The Densen powersupplies has always contained several separate supplies, focusing on clean power to all stages of the products, and the transformers have always been custommade and most of them encapsulated in epoxy to minimise vibrations influence on the delicate audio signals on the PCB board. Now Densen takes these attentions to details to another level, with the introduction of the Densen B-275.

The Densen B-275 is the first Superleggera product from Densen. The term superleggera will not be unfamiliar to conneceurs of advanced sportscars, as this Italian term, meaning super light weight, has been used to describe the chassis of some of the best and most famous sportscars ever made.

The industry standard has been to build bigger and bigger products, with larger and larger circuits and powersupplies, resulting in cabinets both holding delicate audioelectronic and massive powersupplies. Densen has with the Superleggera products divided these into 2, allowing the audiocircuit to be totally separated from the powersupplies mechanically, resulting in a dramatic removal of the powersupply vibrations which will smear the signals of a normal amplifier. In the B-275 the huge powersupply has its own cabinet, while the delicate audiocircuit is in the Superleggera cabinet, where everything possible has been done to reduce the weight and remove vibrations. This has made a dramatic improvement of the sound, and where huge high end products normally is associated with dark and slow presentation of music, the words that springs to mind when describing the B-275 Superleggera is words like agile, precise, fast, dynamic and natural.

The B-275 simply let the music breath more freely, due to the removal of unnessesary weight. This is in line with Densens effort in previous models, where the attention has always been to make a light cabinet, but here it is obviously taken to extremes with the 2 cabinet solution.

The powersupply of the B-275 is placed in a cabinet named 2NRG. The 2NRG contains no less than 3 custommade transformers, each with 2 separate windings. Each audio channel of the B-275 Superleggera has its own transformer and no less than 200.000uF and rectifying by the use of ultrafast and precise diodes. The third transformer supplies the microprocessor, display, input selectors and the advance relay driven volume attenuator. All in all the 2NRG has no less than 510.000uF in the form of 51 custommade capacitors. The B-275 Superleggera itself contains further voltage regulation, allowing a complete removal of interference between each part of the amplifier. Therefore the B-275 itself contains a further 120.000uF of powersupply capacitors, and several individual regulations. The result of all this care to the heart of the B-275; the powersupply, means the B-275 can breathe freely.

An equally great dedication has been put on the audiocircuits. The B-275 Superleggera uses Densens unique non feedback single ended Class A topology, for a transparent, dynamic, refined and musically sound. Extreme care has been taken to avoid compromises. As such the B-275 features Densens advanced microprocessor controlled attenuator. In these times, digital volume controls are often used in even high end amps. However digital volume controls, typically contains over 500 components in a compact microchip, with all the complications this means to the tiny vulnerable audiosignals. On top of that, digital volumecontrols typically has poor performance at low signal levels, where they will have high distortion and time related distortions, resulting in listening fatigue and lack of transparency and details. And since normal listening is done at reduced signal levels, and not maximum output, this actually worsens the negative impact on the sound when using digital volumecontrols. Densen has therefore never used digital volumecontrols on all their products, opting instead for an advanced ultraprecise attenuator. This attenuator is implemented with the use of Vishay 0,1% lasertrimmed metal film resistors, giving a transparency and accuracy that is outstanding. Further the attenuator is calibrated by the user, by an interface with the amplifiers microprocessor. This means that the microprocessor that also takes care of the B-275s display, remote, inputselector and DenLink multiroom system, also takes care of the calibration of the attenuator to the listening level desired by the listener. The calibration is done in ½ db steps, allowing a high resolution, securing that the listener can always hit the precise listening level he desire.

The qualities of this attenuator should not be downsided, as this is perhaps the most advanced and precise volumecontrol currently used in the audio industry no matter price. Further the microprosessor controls the B-275s option of installing a analogue surround-board, which is a board that expands the B-275 to a true 7+1 analogue preamp, securing a precise and straight signal path for users who wants to upgrade the B-275 with a DVD or BluRay with either 5+1 or 7+1 analogue output, and with further poweramplifiers to control all speakers in such a system.

Audiophiles wanting to use the B-275 with a gramophone, can convert on of the B-275s line inputs to either a MM or MC RIAA input by the purchase of a dedicated phonostage to insert in the B-275. The circuit itself is implemented using SMD technology, with the components being mounted with a precision of 0,02mm and soldered in an artificial atmosphere using nitrogen, to avoid oxidation of the soldering over time.

The parts are the best possible, resistors being Vishay metalfilm, the transistors being ultrafast and precise types, while the capacitors are conventional leaded capacitors but are Densen custommade film capacitors for the critical parts of the circuit. All critical parts of the B-275 is encapsulated in metal boxes, to minimize interference.

The B-275 sets new standards for preamplifiers, and as Densens head honcho Thomas Sillesen states “for many years making superb preamps has always been a difficult task for the worlds high end manufacturers, therefore I am very proud we have been capable of providing discerning audiophiles and musiclovers with such an outstanding performer. The B-310 is the successor to the critically acclaimed B-300. Densen B-320 - power amplifier
The B-320 is the successor to the critically acclaimed B-300XS and is built directly on the B-300XS. The B-300XS was the most sold Densen power amp ever. Now it has been tweaked and fine tuned to deliver an even more impressive performance. The B-320 contains an output stage built using Densen's unique DMCD technology. This makes the B-320 extremely fast and precise, while retaining

unlimited control of the speakers that are connected. The bandwidth is also extreme and goes straight to 400.000Hz, resulting in improved slew-rate. This amplifier has - like any Densen amplifier - the capability to drive any loudspeaker on the market. The sound is fast, transparent and dynamic while still having the refinement of a true musical performer.

The B-320 is built using surface mounting techniques and the components are mounted to a precision of 0.02mm using silver solder. All solderings are made in an artificial nitrogen athmosphere to avoid oxidation of the solderings. The power supply is massive and consists of a 800VA transformer, with a storage capacity of 100.000uF with 4 separate rectifiers, of which the 2 are capable of 3.000VA. Unusually for an amplifier, the capacitors are not all mounted in a capacitor bank; some are located next to the output stage for faster power delivery. All resistors are laser-trimmed Vishay metalfilm with a precision of 0.1%. As a special feature, the emitter resistors consist of twelve 0.1% metalfilm resistors in parallel (per output transistor = 96 resistors in total), ensuring no induction and, at the same time, a large surface for passing the substantial audio signals to the output terminals. Since they are in parallel, they actually have a much improved sonic signature compared to the conventional solution with a single resistor. The B-320 delivers 2x100W at 8 ohm, and 2x200W in 4 ohm. The mains transformer is wound in a special way to lower the noise floor and actively function as a shielding transformer.

By using a new power supply set-up, the B-320 also has an extremely "dark" background, which makes the amplifier sound extremely controlled, but still provides lots of emotion and spark. No local or global feedback is one of the key issues with all Densen designs, including the B-320. This technology is now further improved with Densens new patent pending DMCD circuit. DMCD stands for Dense Mass Current Distribution, and by using the DMCD circuit, the current is at all times present at the output terminal. This results in an extremely low output impedance and a truely non-feedback amplifier.

The circuitry is manufactured as single ended all the way from the input terminal to the output stage. The Printed circuit board is made of teflon and is doublesided, allowing the signal to be placed on one side and the groundplane on the other, thereby optimising interference free signal transfer. The B-320 contains several exciting features. On the backpanel there is an external switch to adjust the gain, so that the B-320 works perfectly with a traditional preamp, as well as with a CD-player with variable output.

There is also a D-Sub15 connector, allowing for DenLink connection to other Densen products, such as auto power on/off from a Densen preamp or integrated amp. The output terminals are doubled for easy bi-wiring. The B-320 is also prepared for Densen’s SAXO electronic crossover, so that the B-320 can be used in active systems. This is done by mounting the crossover in an internal socket. The SAXO crossover is user adjustable and will fit all speakers on the market. The B-320 controls even extremely large speakers with ease, and it will definitely lead to a lot of people falling in love with music for the first time….and a lot of people falling in love with music for ever.

Densen B-330 - power amplifier
The B-330 is a direct descendent from the top of the line B-350 monoblocks. The B-350 monoblocks act as the internal reference at Densen. Basically, the B-330 is a stereo power amp based on the B-350's technology, and uses the distinct monoblock cabinet with its recessed heatsinks as the basis for an extremely affordable reference power amplifier. The B-330 contains several exciting features. Externally on the backpanel there is a switch to adjust the gain, so it either works perfect with a traditional preamp or with a CD with variable output. There is also a D-Sub15 connector, allowing for Link connection to other Densen products, and for auto power on/off. The D-Sub connector can be daisy-chained in multiroom systems. The B-330 is also prepared for the SAXO electronic crossover. This is done by mounting the crossover internally in the B-330 in a socket. The SAXO crossover will fit all passive speakers on the market.

Densen B-340 - 4-channel power amplifier
Despite the name, the B-340 is not an upgraded B-300, but rather a version of the B-300XS with 4 channels and slightly reduced output power.

In use with a B-300 or B-300XS you have a total of 6 channels allowing for 5.1 or the new 6.1 / 7.1 system with active subwoofer. If you are looking for the ultimate in surround, simply use two B-340’s, givning you 8/7.1 channels and maximum flexibility.

The B-340 is a multi-purpose 4 channel power amplifier. It can be used in an almost endless range of combinations; in bi-amp mode the effect of using the B-340 is stunning, as always when you bi-amp. But here you can take bi-amping to another level by using the SAXO crossover, providing a truely active system (by removing the crossovers in your your speakers and using the SAXO instead).

The B-350 is Densen's top of the line power amp. The new B-350 contains a completely new output stage, built using Densen’s unique "DMCD" technology (patent pending).
