Grado, one of the oldest family owned companies in the Audio Industry, has for over half a century been the leaders in design engineering for the high-end audio and recording industries. Grado is famous for their remarkable headphone and phono cartridge designs and hold over 48 patents. Company founder, Joseph Grado is credited as the inventor of the stereo moving coil phono cartridge. He is responsible for more innovations in phono cartridge design than any other person in our lifetime and was inducted into the Audio Hall of Fame in 1982. Time honored manufacturing know how and painstaking attention to design detail allows previously unobtained levels of pitch control, harmonic accuracy and bass quality to be achieved. All Grado headphones and cartridges are hand made to Grado's full performance specifications... nothing leaves the factory unless it sounds pure Grado. The Legacy Continues... Joseph Grado has passed on the mantle of President to his nephew John Grado. John has risen from sweeping the floors of the factory as a twelve year old, to President and Owner of Grado Laboratories. Following on from Joseph Grado's acclaimed designs, John has led the development of the Prestige, Reference and Statement Series of headphones and phono cartridges and the Professional Series of headphones. All of which have received World Wide acclaim by the Audio press. Grado Statement Platinum-1 The newly redesigned Platinum1 and Sonata1 have had their coil design reconfigured, and the effective moving mass of their generating system has been reduced by 17%. All this is hand-assembled within a machined, new processed, Australian Jarrah wood housing. The Platinum1 and Sonata1 models use a modified four piece OTL cantilever technology achieving a 10% tip mass reduction over the Prestige series and ultra-high purity long crystal (UHPLC) oxygen free copper wire in the coils. The Platinum model uses Grado's specially designed elliptical diamond mounted on a brass bushing, and the Sonata model uses Grado's specially designed nude elliptical diamond.

Grado The New Statement-1 Grado re-makes their Grado The New Statement-1. After years of careful thought and painstaking design Grado is very pleased to offer their upgraded flagship phono cartridge. We are so proud of this cartridge and believe that it has so much to say about Grado technology, that it was named the Grado statement-1. The statement-1 utilizes reconfigured gold coil wires, a lower mass faster generating system, a boron cantilever and a diamond cut specially for Grado. All this is hand-assembled within a machined, new processed, Australian Jarrah wood housing. The output for the statement-1 measures at 0.5 mV. The lowest output ever offered by Grado. The low frequency information and its portrayal of bass dynamics are solid, powerful and authoritative. The midrange is rich, complex and highly believable. Its top-end seems to extend forever with speed and remarkable delicacy. Imaging is detailed and precise with a sound stage that wraps its arms around you and draws you into the music.
