The acclaimed Advanced AL24 DSP processing improves the fidelity of high resolution stereo PCM sources such as CD and DVD (up to 192kHz sampling frequencies), by sophisticated DSP processing algorithms that improves low level detail and enhances fidelity by upsampling and adaptive filtering techniques. ALPHA processing is the world's first technical formula for reproducing an analog waveform from the reproduction of 16-bit data in 20-bit quality. The ALPHA processer interpolates the digital data recorded on a CD and reproduces it in a waveform that is very close to the way these musical signals would look in a natural analog waveform.

Super Audio CD uses a new and radically different technology called Direct Stream Digital (DSD) to convert music into a digital signal that can be stored on a disc. Compared to the traditional PCM method (the technology used for CD), DSD offers a much higher resolution by following more closely the original wave form of music. With a frequency response of over 100kHz and a dynamic range over 120dB across the audible frequency range – some 64 times higher resolution then CD - Super Audio CD offers music reproduction that reveals details you just can’t hear on a normal CD.

The Direct Stream Digital pulse train "looks" remarkably like the analog waveform it represents. More pulses point up as the wave goes positive and down as the wave goes negative.

Denon DVD-3930, remote controlled, universal dvd-player with HDMI

Silicon Optix (the company behind the Realta chip) and Teranex (the company behind high definition professional broadcasting platforms) enable a new benchmark standard of video excellence called Hollywood Quality Video. Teranex‘s broadcasting platform has been integrated into the Realta chip. Teranex’s software algorithms, which have been refined over 100,000 hours of content verification and are recongnised in the industry for a very high level of quality, have been incorporated to run on Realta.

Realta’s architecture for the HQV chip includes the industry’s first fully software programmable video array processor capable of performing over 1 trillion operations per second, an Image Fidelity Enhancement Engine and end-to-end true 10-bit image processing. These core technologies combine together to enable the simultaneous processing of dual high-definition image streams, delivering HQV into home entertainment and professional video display products. The Denon DVD-A1XV is the first DVD player for the home entertainment market to incorperate HQV technology.

D.D.V.C: Not only only does Denon separate audio and video circuitry in its DVD players to maintain high sound and picture quality, the interlaced, Progressive and SCART video output circuits are also arranged independant of each other. Isolated circuits and boards, the use of a box chassis and even the encoder chips (in high end models) are all exclusively dedicated to individual tasks to minimize mutual iinterference and ensure optimum picture quality.

DPIC is a patented image enhancer algorithm and processing method, which enhances the target pixel by analysing all the surrounding 8 pixels to produce a more natural image. It detects and processes images with vertical, horizontal and also diagonal direction at pixel level. The Luminance(Y) and Chrominance difference(Cr,Cb) signals are processed with the DPIC algorithm. The result of running this process on the signals and the corresponding pixals, this produces a more natural image. General algorithms process only the luminance(Y) signal.
