Established in 1991, Mei Xing - Ming Da has built up a reputation for designing and manufacturing the best valve amplifiers in China. It’s really no surprise that they are the largest OEM of valve amplifier manufacturer in the world.

Ming Da upholds very high standards when it comes to component choices, this is why their output transformers are hand built, in house. All transformers are made of Japanese imported Z11 annealed steel sheets and wound with oxygen free copper wires. In addition Ming Da implements a unique design which gives their transformers a frequency range of 18Hz ~ 65kHz.

Circuit wise, everything is hand soldered point-to-point with high quality copper air wiring. Teflon insulated silver wiring is used for all signal paths, with gold plated copper input/output connections.

TLS Audio - Ming Da - Audio Modifications

Most Ming Da models are now available with a TLS Audio modification.

The TLS stage 2 auto bias modification makes swapping vacuum tubes possible without the need for any bias adjustments. Audiophiles no longer have to worry about drifting bias settings or the need to have the amplifier adjusted by a service technician after a vacuum tube has been replaced. The TLS Audio auto bias circuit controls the bias with great precision to maintain proper bias regardless of the vacuum tube used, tube aging or operation conditions. TLS Audio also managed to remove a number of sound degrading capacitors from the circuit to further improve sound quality. The overall sonic improvement of the TLS stage 2 modification is staggering.

Further sound quality improvements can be obtained by the TLS stage 3 High Speed Power modification. The stage 3 modification reduces the losses of the power supply and improves speed, tracking and reliability. The leap forward in performance turns something like the MC3008-A into a real monster with an unbeatable price/performance ratio. This big 805 tube based singled ended amplifier is clearly one of the most revealing and 3D sounding vacuum tube amplifiers on the market and this sound quality already starts at whisper playback levels. Only a handful of amplifiers can do this.
