Musical Fidelity M3 CD - cd playerThe matching M3CD Compact Disc Player is the latest in Musical Fidelity’s long line of well-regarded, high-tech digital products. In 1987, Musical Fidelity was virtually the first company to make a DAC. Since then, we have been at the cutting edge of technology. All of our digital products have been well received, and, with their great technical performance, they represent excellent value for money. Because we believe that the first step to proper musicality is excellent technical performance, we have ensured that the M3CD has low distortion, virtually flat frequency response, low noise and low jitter. Once we sorted out those, we went on to refine subtle matters of engineering that give proper musicality. Among these are the unique high-tech digital-stream noise filter that we have built into the M3CD. This makes a large contribution to its technical performance and musicality. The M3CD also has a mains choke filter. As far as we are aware, our usage is unique among CD players. The mains choke filters out unwanted noise from the mains and allows the M3CD’s five independent power supply units to work properly, regardless of mains irregularities.In making the M3 Series, we have tried our best to make the casework elegant, well built and beautifully finished. The M3 Series front panels are custom-made extrusions of solid metal finished to a high standard. The knobs and buttons are machined from solid metal. The metalwork is snug-fitting with close-tolerances, reflecting fine craftsmanship in its manufacture. The sound quality of the M3i and M3CD is rather like the way they look The quality is smooth, serene and structured. Their excellent dynamic range is coupled with outstanding load driving ability and stability margins. The sound is warm and inviting, but not coloured. While their prices are relatively modest, the M3i and M3CD offer proper high end performance. They are a great starting or finishing point for your musical hi-fi journey. Musical Fidelity M6 CD - cd playerThe M6CD/DAC is the latest evolution of Musical Fidelity’s high performance digital range. It has a very high quality 24-bit 192K true upsampling DAC which has outstanding linearity, ultra low noise, very low distortion and ruler flat frequency response. The M6CD/DAC is a very high quality DAC as well as being a CD player. Once you have created a very high performance DAC for a CD player it is relatively low cost to add 3 extra digital inputs so it can be used as a very high quality DAC as well. That’s what we’ve done with the M6CD. It has inputs for USB, coax and optical. Given a reasonable quality digital stream the M6’s DAC will make a huge measurable improvement to performance to any source. The M6’s sonic quality is smooth and sweet. There is no harshness, excellent image. Great spatial recovery. Huge dynamic range. It’s just so natural. Musical Fidelity AMS CD/DAC - cd player + DACThe AMSCD/DAC is the finest digital product we have ever made. We have spared no expense or design effort to achieve the maximum possible performance. Inside its exquisitely finished casework is some pretty nifty electronics; quad dual differential DACs, fully balanced, pure Class A analog stages, 12 power supplies, selected custom Philips CD Pro mechanisms, rare earth mu-metal screening 3 digital inputs (balanced optical and coax) 3 digital outputs (balanced optical and coax).The AMSCD’s technical performance is, pretty well, at the limits of the medium. S/n ratio is better than 117dBA, linearity is similarly top notch. In every technical parameter the AMSCD is at the cutting edge of the limits of the technology. The AMSCD’s sound quality is quite remarkable. It is utterly uncoloured and neutral. It doesn’t draw attention to itself. It doesn’t shout at you. It simply presents the music, all the music and nothing but the music without asserting any of its own character. Some people don’t think that this is “hi-fi”. We passionately believe a hi-fi component’s job is to be completely invisible. Simply act as a conduit for the passion and commitment of the music. Musical Fidelity M1 DAC - digital analog converterMusical Fidelity was pretty well the first company in the world to make a DAC. Since then we have an unbroken lineage of top performing, top value digital products. The new M1 DAC is the fruit of our 23 years experience of making top performance DACs. It has four digital inputs; coax, optical, balanced and USB. The M1 DAC will lock on to any S/P diff signal at; 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88kHz, 96kHz and 192kHz. The input sampling frequency is displayed on the front panel. The M1 DAC upsamples to 24-bit at 192kHz. This is genuine true upsampling. The M1's technical performance is, pretty well, as good as any at any price. We know this sounds like an incredible claim but it's true. Musical Fidelity's state-of-the-art circuit design and pcb layout with the use of top quality digital components gives state-of-the-art performance. There's no secret or mystery about this. We use top quality digital components in carefully designed circuit configurations which are subtly implemented on brilliant pcb layouts. Unsurprisingly the result is state-of-the-art performance. It's just that the price is competitive so many people find it hard to believe.The M1 DAC has vanishingly low distortion, typically less than 0.005% across the band. Frequency response is ruler flat. Jitter is extremely low. The noise ratio is outstanding, one of the quietest DACs in the world regardless of price. Looking at the M1 DAC's total measurements and comparing them to any DAC up to ten times its price you will see that, on balance, the M1 DAC is equal to or better than any. The M1 DAC has a high quality power supply. Interestingly it has choke filtration on the mains input. This, effectively, is a mains signal conditioner which increases the performance and value of the M1 to even greater heights.Specifications:
